GoodCap Pharmaceuticals Inc. (GoodCap) is a preclinical biopharmaceutical company addressing the significant unmet medical needs of patients suffering from PTSD, Anxiety and Depression. These are serious conditions resulting in significant suffering for patients and their families as well as posing a major burden to the healthcare systems of all developed countries. GoodCap is developing GCAP001, a novel, proprietary drug formulation composed of low doses of psilocybin and a modulator molecule. GCAP001 was developed from the real-world experience of GoodCap founders who have treated dozens of patients with PTSD. GCAP001 has demonstrated significant neuromodulatory properties in pre-clinical models as well as having anti-inflammatory properties. This is important since inflammation is thought to play an important role in the development of PTSD as well as other psychiatric and neurodegenerative diseases. GoodCap’s approach of modulated low-dose psilocybin given daily on an outpatient basis, avoids the psychedelic effect of psilocybin while still delivering the therapeutic benefit of the drug through daily dosing.
