What do we do

Polytone Laser Inc. is developing Kroonz™, a patented, non-invasive, non-thermal photobiomodulation (PBM) platform designed to deliver a precisely modulated, multi-wavelength optical signal that produces systemic biological effects. The lead application is glioblastoma (GBM), the deadliest and most common primary malignant brain tumor in adults, with approx. 14,000 new U.S. diagnoses annually and no meaningful five-year survival improvement in over a decade. Kroonz™ builds on a proof-of concept IPLD prototype with clinical evidence spanning over 10 years. An IRB-approved Phase I study in 17 patients with advanced solid tumors, published in Clinical Cancer Research, showed antitumor activity in 15 of 17 patients, including prolonged stable disease; no dose-limiting toxicity; and statistically significant improvements in quality-of-life and performance-status measures at specified follow-up intervals. These findings were not GBM-specific and not generated with Kroonz™, which is under development, but they provide a human-informed basis for the current development program. To date, Polytone has secured a U.S. patent, completed an FDA pre-submission interaction, identified a GBM animal model, and completed a U.S. reimbursement and subscription-model assessment. Polytone Laser is an alum of CENTECH, Creative Destruction Lab — Global Cancer Stream, in partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society, and Canadian Technology Accelerator — Taipei Healthtech.
