ReThink Milling has developed and tested, at commercial scale, a novel comminution platform technology, known as CAHM (Conjugate Anvil Hammer Mill). There are two embodiments of the technology: (1) CAHM replaces conventional SAG and HPGR mills for coarse grinding with energy savings of 70%. CAHM is one pass grinding, eliminating regrind circuit and associated equipment. (2) MonoRoll replaces conventional ball mills for fine grinding with energy savings of 50%. Both eliminate the need for steel ball grinding media and associated cost and GHG emissions The significance of the reduction in energy and consumable costs can represent reduction in per tonne comminution cost by 30+%.
