Vasomune Therapeutics (www.vasomune.com) is a clinical-stage company developing a differentiated, best-in-class phase 2 therapeutic, AV-001. AV-001 activates endothelial Tie2 receptors, thereby reversing vascular instability and preventing vascular leak. Activation of the Tie2 pathway is critical reestablishing endothelial stability, quiescence and the control of vascular permeability. We have demonstrated that vascular dysfunction is a root cause of many conditions, and by normalizing endothelial function through Tie2 activation with AV-001, Vasomune can strengthen barrier integrity, reduce vascular leak and subsequent edema, and normalize endothelial reactivity. Our US Department of Defense-funded Phase 2 program focuses on the prevention and treatment of ARDS due to bacterial or viral infections in patients with moderate-to-severe disease. AV-001 has recently been granted FDA Fast Track Designation for the prevention and treatment of ARDS. Vasomune is now increasing focus and efforts to addressing neurovascular diseases. In partnership with our collaborators, Vasomune has published several manuscripts demonstrating our drug's ability to reduce BBB permeability, improve cognitive function, white matter remodeling, myelin density, and reduce inflammation in models of stroke and vascular dementia. We're excited to share that we are working toward an IND focusing on neurovascular disease.
